McGuire Air Show

We went this weekend to the Air Expo at McGuire Air Force Base. It was a beautiful day...pretty windy but that helped keep it from feeling hot. It's fun to be able to show the girls the planes that Daddy has flown: the C-17, KC-10, T-1 and the T-6 (Daddy wants to fly this plane...it replaced the T-37 which is the plane he used to be an instructor on back in 1998-2000...the good ole days).

Hangin out in the shade of the KC-10.

The Thunderbirds were the featured performers of the airshow.

T-6 Texan...Brad's future assignment, he hopes. Brad felt really old looking at the pilot and thinking about the days he used to fly to air shows and work the static displays as a first Lt. nine years ago!
The C-17 Globemaster...Daddy's most recently flown plane in WA.
The best part of the air show is that the noise of three small girls doesn't seem as bad after the ear drum damage I received at the air show.

I got to see the Thunderbirds during their practice show on Friday. HOW AWESOME! I was there with students who were singing the National Anthem for one of the parent's retirement ceremonies. What an honor for the kids - the mom, who was retiring after 20 years with the AF made a video for her speech. I hope that the students eyes were opened to the all that the military does for us.

Since there are so many AF readers of Mel's blog --THANK YOU to all the military for all that you do and to all the families that sacrifice so that you can serve.
