Fall Festival

There is a local farm around here that has an annual Fall Festival that last for 6 weeks. Brad's Mom is in town from TX for the weekend and since we had heard that it was the place to go we decided to check it out...we weren't disappointed. We haven't done a lot of this type of thing lately because we've been so busy with the house. It was nice to have a reason/excuse to stop our projects and go play as a family. The farm had hay rides, corn mazes, tons of huge slides, petting zoos, free cider and apples, huge rope swings, live music, pumpkin patches...and did I mention a ton of slides!
The best/worst thing about the day was the weather! It was beautiful...for summer!!! The high today was an unexpected 83...what happened to last weeks highs of 65? We all got sunburned at a fall festival, that is just wrong to this Michigan girl! Daddy took the day off of work and we let Baileigh play hooky from school since Grandma's visit is quick.
I wanted Brooke to stand alone by these mums and cornstalks but she would only stop if I physically restrained her. She had such a good time and spent the entire day dancing around the farm and pointing at the little pigs and goats.
Baileigh and Mckenna both loved the rope swing.
Grandma and the girls."Free" souvenir pumpkins...notice the small one in Brooke's right hand, she picked that out for the baby in mommy's tummy!
One more swing...
Mckenna, the goat whisperer. This girl is very comfortable with animals (probably too comfortable) and had a way with the goats.
Brooke was a little nervous at first since she isn't much taller then some of the big goats and they ran right for her when she walked in with her cone full of food...once they calmed down she warmed up to the idea of being surrounded by these animals.

Enlarge this picture and check out Mckenna's face...I love this picture!
We had a great day and all went home exhausted. The girls were filthy and sunburned so after their bath this evening I put them all to bed 30 minutes early and never heard from them again.
