Celebrating Seven!

Baileigh turned seven on Sunday! We celebrated her birthday in style. We started with breakfast at Panera for her favorite cinnamon roles.
Enjoying our yummy treats in our "regular" booth...we sat here and ate breakfast for Mckenna's birthday, too!
With full tummy's we headed two hours south to Williamsburg to enjoy a stay at Great Wolfe Lodge. We gave Baileigh the option of a birthday party or a fun overnight trip to this indoor water park and she opted for a family celebration at Great Wolfe.
Getting ready for our fun!
The girls were thrilled with our room which included a special sleeping area for them complete with bunks and their own flat screen. I don't think they'll ever be happy at another hotel after this experience!
Inside the indoor water park. The huge bucket on top dumps tons of water every five minutes. An alarm sounds to warn people below...I saw a man totally unaware that was knocked off his feet once while walking directly under the path of the bucket. It was pretty funny...at his expense. The girls called this obstacle course "The Unbeatable Banzuke" which totally cracked us up...the actual name was the "Lillypad" obstacle, but our girls used to love to watch this Asian game show similar to "Wipe Out" where contestants had to do these obstacle courses.
Mckenna is so strong...she did a better job on this course then a lot of boys older and bigger then her.
It was a tiring two days for Brooke, but she had a blast. It worked well...Baileigh wanted to do things independently, Mckenna wanted Daddy along for reassurance and Brooke wanted to sit with Mommy on any rides.
I hesitate to tell this story because its a little disgusting and makes the place sound gross (which it wasn't...it was actually very clean considering the environment...I hate locker rooms and pool areas and refuse to take off my flip flops). I took Brooke in the wave pool and after about five minutes I thought I noticed something in the water. I walked over for a better look ( I only had one contact in after loosing one and couldn't see great) and was pretty certain it was poop! I'm assuming it was a little kid that went in his pants and it floated out. Doesn't make it any better really. I told a life guard who had his supervisor look and confirm and the pool was cleared and closed for the next three hours while they shocked it! It was hard for me to ever get back in that water...but on the other hand it was probably cleaner then the other pools after its shocking!
The girls were very tired the next morning after all the swimming on Sunday! Baileigh had two days off of school and the timing was perfect to get away to celebrate.
We woke them up with a quick sugar buzz for breakfast!
We spent a few more hours in the water park on Monday and then showered and cleaned up and headed into Colonial Williamsburg to explore and have lunch.
Just before our drive home we spotted a fun looking putt-putt golf course and decided it would be a good way to end our birthday celebration weekend.
We played a fun game of golf...we had to take advantage of the nice day despite being November 3...and then walked next door to DQ for a late afternoon snack. Baileigh has said several times that it was her best birthday ever! I enjoyed it as well since I didn't have to clean the house or worry about hosting a party.

What a fun vacation! That hotel reminds me of going to "FantaSuites" as a kid. My brother and I slept in a covered wagon and my parents, in a teepee. I never forgot it either - we still talk about that place. Can't believe she's 7. Amazing!

Oh, what a neat way to celebrate Baileigh's 7th birthday! Great Wolfe Lodge is so awesome! We have friends who stayed there this summer & raved about it. I'd love for us to take a little mini vacation there too! Your girls look like they had a blast! You'll have to go back to Williamsburg in the spring & take advatage of free admission to Busch Gardens for military (if they still offer it next year, that is!) We went this summer & had a fantastic time.

Awesome!! Wow, 7 years old already? Time is seriously flying by. We loved the Great Wolf we stayed in over here too...that sucks about the poop, at least they took care of it stat. I am so grossed out by locker rooms and public pools too. The things we endure to make sure our families have fun!! haha. Looks like you guys had a really nice time. Happy B'day Baileigh! :o)
